Bowhead Hunt

Bowhead whales are an important traditional harvest for Nunavik Inuit, but harvest has been highly restricted due to their decline in the 20th century. The community of Quaqtaq is planning on hosting a Bowhead hunt this fall in order to pass on harvesting practices and provide food for Nunavik communities. We will be providing support for this project and helping to ensure that the equipment and funding will be secured and prepared in time.
